I have known Amana for many years now and have watched her grow into the woman, mother, and wise woman she is today. I was excited to recently join her Mother Circle, eight weeks of meeting with other women discussing and processing our experiences as women and mothers. I wasn’t sure a woman of my age would find connecting in this way useful, since my children are all grown and have children of their own. I found myself looking forward to each new week and to the learning and connection opportunities Mother Circle offered. I grew in my knowledge and appreciation of the line of my women ancestors, practiced new ways of using breath in my daily practices, really focused in on the way I process fear and trauma - to name just a few of my take-aways - as well as having many uplifting conversations with other women in the circle, each of us sharing our stories.
